Hammer Guide

Mine entire 3x3 areas at once with special Hammer tools. Perfect for mining quartz, stone, and other block types quickly while maintaining a natural appearance.

Key Features

⚒️

3x3 Mining

Mine in a perfect 3x3 square when you hit a block.

Efficient

Break multiple blocks at once, perfect for mining operations.

🎯

Precision

Control which direction the hammer breaks (depth of 3 blocks).

🔧

Customizable

Configure tool hardness and exhaustion multipliers.

🛡️

Durability

Hammer tools work like pickaxes with durability damage.

Drop Display

See crack animations on all blocks being mined.

Getting Started

  1. Craft or obtain a Hammer tool
  2. Equip it like any other mining tool
  3. Stand in front of a block you want to mine
  4. Left-click the block to start mining
  5. The hammer will automatically break a 3x3 area around the block you targeted
  6. Items will drop at your location

Mining Mechanics

How the 3x3 Works

When you mine a block with a Hammer:

  • 3x3 width (left/right)
  • 3x3 height (up/down)
  • 3 blocks deep (toward you)
  • Center block is where you click
  • All compatible blocks break together

Block Compatibility

The Hammer will break:

  • Pickaxe-mineable blocks
  • Blocks of similar hardness
  • Stone, ore, quartz, deepslate
  • Won't break blocks too soft or too hard

Best Practices

Mining Efficiently

The Hammer is best used for mining large veins of ore or stone. It's much faster than traditional pickaxes for bulk mining operations.

Durability Management

Since the Hammer breaks 27 blocks at once (potentially), it uses more durability. Combine it with mending enchantments for longevity.

Angle Your Shots

The Hammer breaks in a 3x3 area toward you. Position yourself to maximize the useful blocks you're targeting.

Combined with Other Tools

Use Hammer for bulk mining, then switch to a pickaxe for precision work on valuable ore deposits.

💡 Tips & Tricks

  • Use the Hammer in caves to quickly clear stone and find ore
  • Perfect for mining large amounts of Nether Quartz in the Nether
  • Great for mining Deepslate in deep caves
  • Combine with Efficiency IV/V enchantments for maximum speed
  • Use Unbreaking III or higher to preserve durability
  • Mending makes the Hammer sustainable for infinite mining
  • The Hammer still respects mining level requirements (you need a pickaxe tier)
