Using Enchanted Books
How Enchanted Books Work
Once you extract an enchanted book from an item, you can combine it with a new item using an Anvil to apply that enchantment.
Anvil Combination
Place your blank tool in the left slot of an Anvil, and the enchanted book in the right slot. The enchantment will transfer to your tool.
Combining Enchantments
You can also combine two items with the same enchantment to merge them into one (higher level if possible).
Storage
Store enchanted books in a chest until you need them - they won't break or disappear, and you can use them anytime.
Strategy Guide
Building Your Enchant Library
Disenchant items with valuable enchantments and store the books. Build a collection of common enchantments like Sharpness, Efficiency, Protection, etc.
Quick Upgrades
Instead of waiting to find the perfect tool, get a decent one and disenchant a better tool's enchantments onto it using your stored books.
Economy Play
Valuable enchanted books can be sold to other players or traded at shop areas. Build an inventory of rare enchantments for profit.
Avoid Waste
Never disenchant unique or powerful items without thinking first - make sure you really don't need those enchantments.
